Everybody loves a parade—and there are plenty for crowds to see during Ogden Pioneer Days. The Horse and Hitch Parade, featuring horses, wagons and buggies of all kinds, and the Grande Parade kick off the July 24 events and activities to celebrate Utah’s statehood.

Ogden's Horse & Hitch Parade is one of the finest in Utah. The unmistakable rattle of wooden wagon wheels, and the clippety-clop of horse hooves, will be heard throughout downtown Ogden. Come see every kind, color, breed and size of horse imaginable.

The parade route begins on 31st Street, continues northbound on Washington Boulevard and ends on 20th Street.

For interested participants: Dress’m up, haul’m out and bring’m to the Ogden Pioneer Days Horse & Hitch Parade (see more). Everyone is invited to bring horses, wagons, and carriages to ride with hundreds of entries from throughout the Mountain West. Deadline to submit an application is June 30.

The Parade staging area will be on Washington Blvd between 30th and 32nd. Horse unloading will be on Washington Blvd from Goddard Street to 34th, and also the parking lot of Odyssey Elementary School. Horse trailers must be moved to the disbanding area on Washington Blvd from 20th to 17th.

The commemoration of Utah’s statehood starts with Ogden Pioneer Days’ Grande Parade, which runs through the heart of Ogden City. Thousands of spectators line up along Washington Boulevard to cheer for marching bands, service organizations, student body representatives from area schools, floats, horse drawn carriages, antique automobiles, and youth dance groups. There’s literally something for everybody.

The parade route begins on 31st Street, continues northbound on Washington Boulevard and ends on 20th Street.

For interested participants: To get a good spot in the parade, be sure to have your application in by May 31st. Late applications will be received up to July 10th. Please click the application button for more details.
