Miss Rodeo Ogden, Attendants Reign Over 2017 Celebration


MRO Queens 2017 8600McKaylie Richins, Coalville, the daughter of Jeff and Lisa Richins, is the new Miss Rodeo Ogden. Richins, 19, won the crown after a daylong pageant on Saturday, April 15. She also captured the appearance, horsemanship, photogenic and public speaking awards. First runner-up is Shianne Lowe, 23, West Haven, the daughter of Davey and Lindy Lowe. Lowe also won the personality award. Second runner-up is Carly Peercy, 23, South Jordan, the daughter of Curtis and Lana Peercy. Taylor Preece, 18, Plain City, the daughter of Clayton and Carrie Preece, was honored with the congeniality award. Richins will serve as the public face of Ogden Pioneer Days, which will run July 19-24 at Ogden Pioneer Stadium. This August, Ogden Pioneer Days, Utah's biggest and best statehood celebration will be inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame. The Miss Rodeo Ogden coronation ceremony at Timbermine Restaurant also included honors for Judy Anderson, Miss Rodeo Ogden 1959, who was instrumental in launching the Miss Rodeo Ogden Association and has served as a historian of the Miss Rodeo Ogden pageant.  Come see McKaylie, Shianne and Carly at all Ogden Pioneer Days this week.
