“How The West Was Fun” exhibit consists of several miniature structures housing hands-on activities giving it a very real and personal connection to our western heritage. The miniature Ogden Pioneer Days Arena allows children to mount on a saddle just their size and take a ride on a giant carved rocking horse. A big red barn is highlighted with art work allows children to find a cow that can be milked, and puppet chicks and pigs, and play bales of hay. The barn is also home to an animatronics' rooster, who sits up in the barn's hayloft window and crows at special times, and to an animatronics' sheep, who is “penned” near the cow. Activity tables around the barn feature miniature farms for both younger children and older visitors to do some hands-on farming.
